Maneki-neko
The maneki-neko is a type of lucky charm in the form of a cat with one arm up to beckon people. Originating in the Edo period (1603-1868), it is also said to invite customers and fortune. This is a maneki-neko by Toko Kakinuma, who learned traditional arts from creating hina dolls, essential items at Japanese events. Each are made carefully one-by-one by the artisan. These maneki-neko, with their charming eyes and carefully crafted features, bring a bit of color to your everyday life.
