Tokyo and New York City Officially Launch Tourism Promotion Partnership

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) and NYC & Company, the official marketing organization for New York City, launched a tourism partnership aimed at attracting travelers from each city. The partnership is part of TMG’s efforts to promote Tokyo as an attractive travel destination worldwide under the city’s “Action Plan for 2020.” To commemorate this city-to-city agreement, on November 10, the Empire State Building in New York lighted up in blue and white, symbol colors of Tokyo’s new logo.
As a part of the partnership, both cities will mutually exchange posting advertisements in each respective city. New York City advertisements are now posted at Tokyo subway stations and in the trains, and on bus stop shelters for two weeks(~November 26). On the other hand, Tokyo advertisements will be featured on bus stop shelters and Link NYC screens in New York City from November 20 for four weeks.
