Tokyo Named the Best Big City in the World for the Second Consecutive Year!

Ranked #1 in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2025
Tokyo, October 8, 2025 – The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is pleased to announce that Tokyo has been ranked as the No. 1 city in the world’s “Best Big Cities” category for the second consecutive year in the Readers’ Choice Awards 2025 hosted by the U.S. edition of the prestigious travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveler.
The continued recognition of Tokyo as the world’s most captivating city reflects the success of public–private initiatives to enhance visitor infrastructure and create immersive cultural experiences.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will continue to further enhance the attractiveness of Tokyo, a city where tradition and innovation coexist, to establish the “PRIME Tourism Destination City Tokyo.”
