Kaishi
The kaishi, a compact piece of paper carried in a pocket, originates from the Heian period (8th century~12th century) and is dispensable in daily life. Made from the world-famous washi Japanese paper by traditional methods passed down for generations, this kaishi has a variety of uses including holding sweets, wiping ones mouth, wrapping items or writing something. The cover of the kaishi is inlayed with the mark of Ginza's symbolic willow. Get your hands on some kaishi, which represents Japan's exquisite craftwork.
