New Tokyo Tourism Ambassadors unveiled!

On May 16, 2025, a ceremony was held to unveil the Tokyo Tourism Ambassadors who were newly appointed in January 2025. Tokyo Tourism Ambassadors come from divergent fields and leverage their experience, respective audiences, and communication capabilities to spread the message of the diversity that Tokyo has to offer tourists, both in Japan and overseas. The Ambassadors play a key role in Tokyo’s ongoing endeavors to boost visitor numbers and revitalize local communities.

Four internationally experienced chefs appointed as Tokyo Tourism Ambassadors

The newly appointed Ambassadors are chef Yahei Suzuki at Piatto Suzuki, chef Kenichiro Sekiya at Château Restaurant Joël Robuchon, chef Kentaro Chen at Shisen Hanten, and chef Kimio Nonaga at Nihonbashi Yukari. The four Ambassadors made an appearance during the opening ceremony on the first day of Tokyo Tokyo Delicious Museum, a festival serving up the delights of Tokyo’s diverse food scene, held at Symbol Promenade Park in Ariake.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Governor Matsumoto, along with fellow Tokyo Tourism Ambassadors Yusuke Nomura of DAIGO and Haruyuki Yamashita of HAL YAMASHITA Tokyo. The newly appointed Ambassadors spoke enthusiastically about sharing Tokyo’s incredible food culture and offerings with people in Japan and overseas.

From traditional Washoku to a wide selection of global flavors, Tokyo’s food scene has become a major highlight for travelers. The new Ambassadors will draw on their extensive international experience and strong influence to showcase the culinary treasures of Tokyo.
